In a previous blog we discussed how important spinal hygiene for overall health. We shared a routine of full body stretching in a video and the feedback was great. This past week our top rated chiropractor in Freehold NJ put
together another great routine of full body stretching.
Some of these moves are a little more advanced, so if you feel any pain, make sure to stop or decrease the amount of motion. They will help you loosen up the upper chest, back and shoulders. It’s important to talk to your doctor if you feel pain doing these moves.
So, get up off the couch, get moving and enjoy the benefits of loosening the muscles and decreasing the tension:
Now didn’t that feel great? I recommend all my patients take 5 to 10 minutes a day to do some full body stretching. Many of the videos can be found on our youtube channel (click and subscribe): Dr. Russell Brokstein

Full body stretching for spinal hygiene is like dental hygiene for your teeth. You don’t only brush your teeth when a Dentist finds a cavity or you teeth hurt. Even after the Dentist fixes your teeth or gives you a clean bill of health, you keep brushing, flossing and rinsing to try and prevent more problems.
Every day you put the body into poor postures, bad sleeping positions, carrying pocketbooks, briefcases, wearing poor shoes that don’t provide optimal support. Going to the chiropractor to check for subluxations from daily activities and doing our full body spinal hygiene stretches are a great prescription to keeping your body in optimal shape. Keeping your body and spine in shape is important because you are born with one and it cannot be replaced. Taking a proactive approach is better than reactive.
Until next time… be safe and well!
